LOVE, SEX, AND THE I.R.S. by Latitude 41 September 23-October 2, 2016
Latitude 41 presents the wild farce, LOVE, SEX, AND THE I.R.S., written by William Van Zandt and Jane Milmore, and directed by Devon Ford.
Jon Trachtman and Leslie Arthur are out of work musicians who room together in New York City. To save money, Jon (played by Luke Pascale) has been filing tax returns listing the pair as married. The day of reckoning comes when the Internal Revenue Service informs the couple theyre going to be investigated by a Mr. Spinner (Tom Schmitt). Leslie (Topher Gleason) masquerades as a housewife, aided by Jons fiancee, Kate (Stephanie Maldonado). Complicating matters further Leslie and Kate are having an affair behind Jons back. Jons mother Vivian (Renae Kairis) drops in unexpectedly to meet her sons fiancee, and Leslies ex-girlfriend, Connie (Karianne Dugard) shows up demanding to know why Leslie has changed and wont see her anymore. Ted Holste and Domineik Durham round out the cast as they all tumble through twists of fate, sight gags, mistaken identities and hilarious comic lines. Jeff Matson is the Assistant Director, and Caitlin Matson is the Stage Manager.
Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, September 23, 24, 30, and October 1, and Sundays at 2pm, September 25 and October 2. All performances are on the indoor stage at Bicentennial Park Theater, 201 W Jefferson St., Joliet. Seating is General Admission and tickets are $15 at the door.
