Calling all Playwrights & Poets – submit by October 10, 2022

The Emerging Playwrights Festival is returning to our stage with a twist!

We are looking for original one act works to be presented on stage, as well as spoken word poetry.

Please submit your scripts and poems to lcarmine@joliet.gov by October 10, 2022 to be considered.

All entries will be reviewed by our panel. Selected one acts and poems will be notified the first week of November.

If chosen, authors of one-acts are responsible for readying their script for stage.

We will give each entry a night to rehearse on the stage before presenting. Poets will also have time on stage to rehearse if desired.

One Acts should be 10 – 30 minutes long.

Set requirements should be minimal.

Technical requirements should not be necessary. The script should work by itself.

Poems should present well in spoken word and may have multiple presenters.

Prizes awarded: Selections to the event will be given a stipend of $100.00 to off-set the cost of presenting.
