Helping Hands Family Outreach is excited to present their one-of-a-kind “Holiday Concert and Dinner” for all ages to enjoy!
The indoor theatre show will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, with dinner in the lobby 5:30-6:30 pm followed by a concert from 7:00 – 9:00 pm, filled with singing classics, standards, rock and roll, holiday hits and more! As a special treat, the Jesse White Tumblers will kick the show off, with Jesse White himself coming!
The evening’s mc will be Paul Parpet (IL High School Football Coach Hall of Fame 2002 & IL High School Baseball Coach Hall of Fame 2014). As a lead up to Veterans’ Day, the men and women who have served will be recognized.
Before the show, a Cemeno’s catered pasta dinner will also be available 5:30 – 6:30 pm with pasta and salad. The limited seating for dinner will be on a first come, first serve basis. Reservations are suggested by contacting Helping Hands by phone or email (helpinghandsillinois@aol.com/ 815-280-3366).
The evening is a fundraiser for Helping Hands. Admission is a suggested $20.00 donation for dinner and the show, or $10 suggested donation for the show only. The money raised will be used by Helping Hands to purchase winter coats and items for children in need. Helping Hands will then hold an annual December pizza party for the children at Cemeno’s, “Tied With Love: At Christmas.” Before the big party, Helping Hands holds a wrap-a-thon at the Joliet Mall food court. This was also the location where Helping Hands and their volunteers made handmade cards they distributed to local veterans and seniors.
Helping Hands Family Outreach, Inc. is a non-for-profit based in Joliet and serves all the surrounding communities by supporting children, veterans and seniors and in need. Knowing the holidays can be lonely and financially stressful, especially for these groups, Helping Hands invites those in need to be their guests on November 4. “For them, there is no charge for dinner and the show! We just want to give the same opportunity to those who normally wouldn’t get the chance.” smiles Brandye Phillips, Executive Director. Brandye’s mother, Gloria, adds “We just want everyone to feel loved, and enjoy having a meal together.” Since dinner seating is limited, reservations are still recommended even for those at no charge.
A cash bar with other refreshments will also be available. The lobby opens at 4:30 pm.
The Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park and Theatre is located at 201 West Jefferson Street, downtown Joliet. Parking is free within the park and south of Jefferson Street.
