Emerging Teen Playwrights – deadline
Emerging Playwrights Festival for Teens
Original work written and presented by local teens.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: November 21, 2017 (click here for form)
SELECTION: December 1, 2017
PRODUCTION: January 20, 2018
Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park and Theatre is hosting the first Emerging Playwrights Festival for students in 8th grade through 12th grade.
Emerging Playwrights Festival will spotlight the area’s extremely talented and creative teenagers. There is no fee to enter. Simply fill out the registration form and attach your short original script (10 to 15 pages long) for review. If selected, you will produce your play for our stage. The plays will be presented on January 20, 2018.
It will be your vision – and you may recruit your friends to star in it. Plays will be 10 minutes in length. One member of our community will be your mentor to help with staging and production. Everything else is up to you. Submission deadline is November 21, 2017. The selections will be made by December 1, 2017.
We only want your original work, and it is open to all students in the area. Are you the next David Mamet or Christopher Durang, Tracey Letts or Lynn Nottage? Start somewhere. Start here.
The event is produced by the Will-Joliet Bicentennial Park, Inc., nonprofit.
