National Hammered Dulcimer Champion, Katie Moritz (raised in Joliet) is a hammered dulcimer player and teacher whose style of playing ranges from american old-time, to modern pop. Katie’s recognitions include five master/apprentice grants from the Illinois Arts Council for her traditional dulcimer playing. She has won both the southern and mid-eastern regional hammered dulcimer championships and in 2013 she was honored to win the national championship on her instrument. Currently, Katie teaches private students in Yorkville, IL and group workshops at festivals and gatherings around the country. Joe Filisko & Eric Noden
American Roots and Blues artists Joe Filisko and Eric Noden are currently touring in support of their 4th album On the Move. The album is a new collection of material that draws on 1920’s-40’s American styles of blues, folk and ragtime. Just a few of the duo’s influences include Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, Sonny Boy Williamson and Big Bill Broonzy. Joe and Eric’s high energy performances continue to captivate audiences at major festivals in the US, Europe and beyond.
